Carrie Hunter
four poems
**
from The Unicorns
2.
Waiting for the sand to accumulate.
A mouthful of palindromes.
What the telescope misses.
The ghost of Johnny Cash, everywhere.
Creating purpose-
......................ful chaos.
15.
Going through revolving doors.
The verso page.
It is not poverty,
but anti-consumerism.
My unicorn teeth.
A fondness for gauze.
That you can adapt yourself to anything,
except that which you cannot.
My spine.
The color red.
Things I cannot fix or will not.
16.
Ready to risk everything.
Looking for patterns of similarity.
You sit in your chair like a drowning person.
Enduring that which you cannot adapt yourself to.
Rejected by necessity.
.......Bobby pin smear on white stair.
Flags along the way.
Rushing in order to wait.
We will not speak about edges.
31.
I don’t see anything until I see somebody
photograph it.
“In his mind maybe
the parameters are different.”
Everywhere a fucking clock.
Invalid sign placement.
rerethinking.
